Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces arrests two terrorists, recover arms and ammunition

Srinagar/UNI: Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces on Sunday claimed to have arrested two active terrorists in Shopian and recovered arms and ammunition from them.

Acting on specific input regarding presence of an active terrorist identified as Shahid Ahmad Gaine son of Gulzar Ahmad Ganie a resident of Doomwani Keegam of proscribed terror outfit Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and his close associate at village Doomwani near Rambi Ara,Police alongwith 44RR and 14Bn CRPF launched a joint cordon and search operation in the area.

When joint parties of Police and SFs approached the suspected spot, the two suspects tried to flee from the spot.

However, the duo were arrested tactfully by the joint search parties.

The identification of the other arrested terrorist has been identified as Kifayat Ayoub Alie , son of Mohd Ayoub Alie ,resident of Pinjoora Shopian.

Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including a Chinese pistol, one pistol magazine, two Chinese hand grenades, eight pistol rounds were recovered from them besides an amount of ₹2.9 lakhs.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation taken up.
