Jammu police forms SIT to probe into 6 Sidhra dead bodies

Jammu/UNI: Jammu police Wednesday framed a Special Investigation Team to probe the cause of deaths after six bodies were recovered from two houses in Sidhra area here in the city outskirts.

There were three females among the six dead.

The bodies were found earlier in the day from the houses in Tawi Vihar area, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said and added that the bodies have been shifted to GMC Jammu for autopsy.

"An SIT headed by Sanjay Sharma SP Rural, Pardeep Kumar SDPO Nagrota, Inspector Vishav Partap SHO Nagrota and SI Majid Hussain IC PP Sidhra has been formed to investigate the matter," said the SSP.

"It appears to be a case of poisoning but the exact cause is being probed with the help of investigating agencies," he said.

The remains will be handed over to the families after legal formalities.

The deceased were identified as Noor ul Habib, Sakina Begum, Sajad Ahmed, Naseema Akhter, Rubina Bano and Zafar Salim.
