Kolkata: Demanding declassification of Netaji's files, his kin hold rally
Kolkata, Apr 14 (IBNS): The kin of Subhash Chandra Bose held a rally in Kolkata on Tuesday to celebrate the 'Mairang Day' and to pressurise both the state and the central government to declassify all files related to Netaji.
The rally started from B.B.Ganguly Street area and ended at Mayo Road area in Kolkata. More than 100 people from nine Netaji lovers associations of Kolkata and Subhash Chandra's relatives joined the rally.
Netaji's grandnephew who led the rally, Chandra Kumar Bose told IBNS that the Mairang Day celebration rally got spontaneous response from the general people. "Though it is not a political rally, but I am happy to see that many Netaji lovers have joined this rally in a short notice," he said.
Chandra Bose requested to the chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee to release 34 files related to Netaji immediately. "Surya Bose met Narendra Modi in Germany and their discussion was very positive. I appeal to Modi to declassify all documents related to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose to reveal the truth behind this freedom fighter's disappearance," he told IBNS.
Talking about the Neheru government's spying on Netaji's family, Chandra Bose said that Congress government shamelessly spied on the Subhash Chandra Bose's family from 1948 to 1968 which was very bad and unfortunate.
On this day in 1944, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and his Azad Hind Fauz (INA-Indian National Army) hoisted the tricolour at Mairang in Manipur district for the first time on British-occupied Indian soil. To remember the incident, Netaji lovers celebrate this day every year as 'Mairang Day'.
