Maharashtra politics: Shiv Sena MLAs may move to Goa ahead of floor test

Panaji: Ahead of the floor test to be held in the Maharashtra assembly on Thursday, Shiv Sena MLAs may come to this coastal state on Wednesday.

According to sources, the MLAs led by Eknath Shinde are likely to reach the capital city Panjim by this evening.

Over 70 rooms have been booked in a five star hotel located near the city.

Meanwhile, Goa Congress President Amit Patkar alleged that the BJP government was misusing central agencies against the opposition parties.

He urged Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant not to entertain the MLAs as there are many other burning issues facing the state.

"Goa government should not entertain them. If they are coming as a tourist it's ok," he said.

He said he would also try to meet the rebel Maharashtra MLAs and tell them that whatever is happening is wrong.

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari has asked Chief Minister Uddhav Thackerey to prove his majority in the state assembly on Thursday.
