Medicos on strike in Himachal Pradesh

| @indiablooms | Oct 07, 2022, at 06:47 pm

Hamirpur/UNI: Health services in all parts of Himachal Pradesh were hampered Friday as members of the HP Medical Officers Association observed a one-and-half-hour strike to protest against the non-acceptance of their demands.

The protesters also wore black badges.

The medicos want the post of Director of Health filled up by promoting one of the Joint Directors.

The union is also against giving extension of service to doctors in view of the increasing number of unemployed young doctors.

Union General Secretary Dr Dushyant Thakur said the honorarium of 150 per cent of the grade pay of the doctors selected on contract has not been given to some. It should be paid with arrears soon.

The medicos threatened to launch an indefinite strike if the government didn’t accept their demands.
