Modi a publicity PM, not performing PM: Chandrababu Naidu at United India rally in Kolkata

| @indiablooms | Jan 19, 2019, at 07:38 pm

Kolkata, Jan 19 (IBNS): Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said Narendra Modi was a "publicity PM" and not a "performing PM".

Speaking at the Brigade ground in Kolkata at the Mamata Banerjee-organised United India Rally against the BJP, Naidu said: "Five years ago, people gave the mandate for the BJP. They betrayed the nation. They gave slogans. Jan Dhan, mudra loan, good governance, smart cities, bringing back black money, two crore jobs, acche din. These are all slogans."

"We have only one ambition. Save India, save democracy. The BJP wants to divide India, we want to unite India. That's why all the leaders are here today," Naidu said, adding that the GST was a fraud.

"They are harassing states. If you see Kashmir, how they behaved there... Even in Karnataka, it is an elected government but they want to manipulate and destabilise the Karnataka government. They are going to pay a heavy price," Mr Naidu said. "(Chief Minister) HD Kumaraswamy has rightly mentioned just now they (BJP) are offering huge money to MLAs; they want to purchase them just like animals."

Members of 23 parties shared the stage on Brigade Ground in Kolkata and vowed to oust the BJP from power in the next general elections.

During his address, Naidu invited all those present on stage to Andhra's capital Amravati for a similar meeting. Mamata immediately responded and said all alliance members would attend that and similar rallies organised at other places across the country.
