Guwahati, Jan 21 (IBNS): Nagaland Governor PB Acharya said that India was one of the most ethnically diverse nations in the world and the canvas of India’s culture was vast and has hues and vibrancy of all sorts.

While addressing the inaugural programme of Namaste & LLDC Folk Festival 2019 at Ajarakhpur, Bhuj-Kutch, Gujarat as the Chief Guest, he stated that cultural exchange programmes open doors for people from different regions across the country with their own distinct culture to come together and paint a beautiful picture celebrating the diversity India has to offer and promote in strengthening emotional and national integration.

Governor Acharya opined that we need to recognise the importance of such programmes and make more efforts to expand and promote them in order to remove imaginary barriers and promote unity, solidarity and cohesion, despite socio-cultural, regional and religious diversities.

He called on the gathering to strive and create conducive environment, so that our cultural traditions and ethos flourish and take measures to revive and sustain our traditional crafts, art and music.

The 5 Day Namaste & LLDC Folk Festival 2019 will witness Kutchi artisans, folk dancers and folk musicians performing in collaboration with artists from different states of India including North East India. NEZCC has also sponsored the Sumi Cultural team from Diphupar, Nagaland who will be participating at the event.
