Indian PM Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to tech entrepreneur Elon Musk on telephone during which they discussed the scope of collaboration between India and the USA in the field of technology and innovation.

After his conversation, Modi wrote on X, "Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation."

"India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains," he said.

The conversation occurred at a time when the US is engaged in a fierce trade war, which began months after Donald Trump took charge as the President in his second term.

India is facing a 26 per cent reciprocal tariff imposed by President Trump.

Last week, Trump announced a 90-day delay in imposing the reciprocal tariff on all nations except China.
