Nationwide mobile number portability from today

New Delhi, Jul 3 (IBNS) Much awaited Nationwide mobile number portability will be rolled out on Friday. Mobile number portability will allow users to keep existing mobile phone number even when after switching to a different city.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) had extended the deadline for nationwide mobile number portability in May.

Accordingly, state-run BSNL, MTNL and private players like Airtel and  Vodaphone besides other service providers are to roll out nationwide mobile number portability from July 3.

All the service providers have said they are ready for the rollout. .
