New Delhi, June 28 (IBNS): The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has organised a “Community Capacity Building Programme” on Sunday at Dwarka Sector-6 and Connaught Place in New Delhi to make people aware about the safety measures to be adopted by them in the before, during and after phases of the various types of disasters.

To showcase its capabilities as well as to educate the masses in the field of disaster response, NDRF teams have organised a Canine show and demonstrated ‘Pre-Hospital Treatment’ skills to stablise the disaster victims by the Medical First Responder in the aftermath of any disaster.

These demonstrations were followed by the exhibition of the state-of-the-art equipment related to the Medical First Response, Aquatic Disaster Response, Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) and CBRN emergencies which are invariably used by NDRF during various Search and Rescue operations. The visitors were made aware about the use of these equipment.

"Besides, to generate awareness among the masses, lecture on Do’s and Don’ts to be adhered to upon occurrence of any type of disaster and distribution of pamphlets was also carried out during the programme. Senior officers of NDRF were present to supervise the programme. More than 4000 persons attended the programme organised by NDRF at various places of Delhi," read an official statement.

In order to make India a disaster resilient Nation, NDRF is continuously engaged to carry out community awareness programme since its inception.
