Paris, Apr 11 (IBNS): Amid shouts and chants, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the Indian diaspora in France and said he feels that India has 'no reason to remain poor'.

"From my experience I can say that India has no reason to remain poor," Modi said.

"This is the opportunity to give the land of Mahatma Gandhi & Lord Buddha its due. We are not begging, we are seeking what is our right," he said.

Modi said India always believed in world peace.

He said his government will live up to the hopes and aspirations with which people had voted it to power last year.
