PM Modi condoles Lance Naik Hanumanthappa's death

New Delhi, Feb 11 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the demise of Indian soldier Lance Naik Hanumanthapp, who finally lost his battle in an army hospital here after being rescued alive from under an avalanche in Siachen glacier region six days since the incident.
PM Narendra Modi tweeted: "He leaves us sad & devastated. RIP Lance Naik Hanumanthappa. The soldier in you remains immortal. Proud that martyrs like you served India."

The soldier died from multiple organ failure. He was monitored and was in life support but failed to respond to treatment.

A final send-off ceremony is likely to be organised on Thursday evening, media reports said.
 
Buried in the Siachen avalanche for six days, Lance Naik Hanumanthappa who died earlier today at around 11: 45 a.m was in a vegetative state ever since his miraculous rescue a few days ago.
 
He slipped to deep coma according to reports, moments before his death.
