PM Modi congratulates BS Bommai on taking oath as Karnataka CM
New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Basavaraj Bommai on taking oath as Chief Minister of Karnataka.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, "Congratulations to Shri @BSBommai Ji on taking oath as Karnataka’s CM. He brings with him rich legislative and administrative experience. I am confident he will build on the exceptional work done by our Government in the state. Best wishes for a fruitful tenure."

Succeeding 79-year old BS Yediyurappa, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA and former state Home Minister Bommai took oath as the new Karnataka Chief Minister on Wednesday.
Bommai was sworn in by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot in a low-scale ceremony here in presence of Yediyurappa.
The decision on Karnataka succession came after a meeting of the BJP state legislature this evening following Yediyurappa's resignation Monday.
A leader of the politically powerful Lingayat like Yediyurappa, Bommai, was among the former Chief Minister's close confidantes.
Son of Janata Dal's SR Bommai, a former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Bommai joined BJP from the Janata Dal United in 2008.
Yediyurappa submitted his resignation to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan after a two-year-stint as the head of the state Monday evening.
He reportedly said that he quit "voluntarily" and will continue to remain active in state politics.
The buzz about Yediyurappa's resignation grew amid resentment against him and his son.
The speculation received a fillip after he visited Delhi earlier this month and met top BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
