PM Modi tops list of global leaders with 75 percent approval rating, Donald Trump languishes at 8th place

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has topped the list of 'Democratic Leader Approval Ratings' with 75 percent approval, a survey by US business intelligence company Morning Consult said on Friday.

PM Modi is followed by South Korea's President Lee Jae-myung, who has secured a 59 percent approval rating.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney secured the fourth position with 56 percent approval rate while Australian PM Anthony Albanese clinched the fifth position with 54 percent.

US President Donald Trump lagged behind at the eighth position with 44 percent approval rating.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is placed at 10th rank with 40 percent approval rating.

"The latest approval ratings are based on data collected from July 4-10, 2025.

"Ratings reflect a trailing seven-day simple moving average of views among adults in each country surveyed," writes Morning Consult.

Modi completes 2nd highest number of consecutive days as Indian PM

Prime Minister Modi on Friday completed the second-highest number of consecutive days in office, breaking Congress stalwart Indira Gandhi's record.

Modi completed 4,078 consecutive days in office in an uninterrupted run as the Prime Minister.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) top leader stormed into power in 2014 and he was re-elected twice in 2019 and 2024.

The 74-year-old is only behind India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who remained in office for 16 years and 286 days uninterrupted.

The second Indian PM to be re-elected for a third straight term, Modi is also the longest serving non-Congress Prime Minister of the country.
