Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu celebrates World Environment Day, reviews monsoon preparedness of railways

New Delhi, Jun 5 (IBNS): Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Sunday urged people to join his team, who will plant trees on railway lands, making India greener.

"#WorldEnvironmentDay We plant trees on Rail land.State Govts, NGOs,social orgs, edu Inst ,are invited to join in our efforts to #GreenIndia," Prabhu tweeted.

The minister also took account of Indian Railways preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season.

He visited sites with GM and DRM officers of Western and Central railways and directed them take precautionary measures.

A tweet from his official account read, "Reviewed monsoon preparedness Western and Central rail with GM, DRM officers.Directed them to take all precautions.Smooth suburb system too."
