| @indiablooms | Sep 03, 2024, at 11:12 pm

The Sikh community across India is celebrating the safe return of precious Sri Guru Granth Sahib Saroops (sacred texts) that were held in Qatar.

The community is expressing immense gratitude to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. S Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, and the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) for their tireless efforts in bringing the sacred texts back to their rightful place.

The return of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Saroops marks a significant moment for the Sikh community, who hold these texts in the highest reverence.

The Saroops were brought back to India following a diplomatic effort initiated by the Indian government.

The repatriation process involved coordination between various agencies and the Qatari authorities, ensuring the safe transport of the sacred texts.

The Sikh community has been vocal in expressing their appreciation for the government’s intervention. Many Sikhs have taken to social media to share their joy and gratitude. “This is a momentous occasion for all Sikhs,” said a user on X. “The Sri Guru Granth Sahib is the cornerstone of our faith, and its return is a testament to the government’s commitment to protecting our religious heritage,” said another.

The SGPC, the apex Sikh religious body, has also played a crucial role in facilitating the return of the Saroops. The SGPC has been in constant communication with the Indian government and the Qatari authorities to ensure that the process was carried out smoothly.

The return of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Saroops is a testament to the importance of cultural diplomacy and the protection of religious heritage. It is a reminder of the deep-rooted connection between the Sikh community and their sacred texts, and a celebration of the efforts made to safeguard this precious legacy.
