Sitaram Yechury describes Union Budget as 'anti-people'

New Delhi: Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Sitaram Yechury on Tuesday the Union Budget presented today by FM Nirmala Sitharaman as 'anti-people'.

"This is an anti people budget and must be opposed. Lies, Damned Lies & Statistics," Yechury tweeted.

The Indian government presented its annual budget in the Parliament on Tuesday.

The budget is presented at a time when several states in the country, including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, will vote to elect new assemblies.
