Soldier and police officer killed in Kashmir encounter with terrorists
Srinagar, Apr 2 (IBNS) A Soldier and a Special police officer were killed on Thursday morning in a gun battle with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Hardushoora village, police said.
Two army officers are also injured in the fierce encounter.
The terrorists managed to escape.
Security forces on Thursday morning surrounded a house in Hardushoora village, of Tangmarg in North Kashmir after receiving inputs of militants being holed up there.
“When the security forces approached towards the house, the militants opened fire at them with automatic weapons triggering a gun battle”, a police official told IBNS.
One Special Police Officer and one Indian Army Soldier were killed in a gun battle, while three others, including one civilian officer were injured , the official said.
Speaking to IBNS a senior army official said that after a brief gun fight militants managed to escape from the encounter site.
Security forces have laid cordon in the area to nab the militants, he added.
