Sued by Jayalalithaa, DMK chief Karunanidhi to appear before court
Chennai, Jan 14 (IBNS) DMK supremo M Karunanidhi on Thursday said he will appear personally in the court on Monday in connection with a defamation case filed by his long-time rival, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
In a statement, Karunanidhi said that the case is an attempt " to threaten publications that don't support the ruling AIADMK."
Karunanidhi, 92, has been sued by Jayalalithaa for republication of a newspaper article in DMK mouthpiece Murasoli.
Jayalalithaa, 67, alleges that the article defames her.
