Sunjay Kapur's Rs. 30,000 cr asset inheritance battle: Priya Sachdev's lawyers question Karisma Kapoor's absence for last 15 years

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and her children have alleged that they were dropped from the will of late businessman Sunjay Kapur to whom the Hindi film star was married to, media reports said.

Karisma and her kids- Samaira (20) and Kiaan (15)- have traded the charges against Priya Sachdev Kapur, who was married to Sunjay at the time of his death.

Sunjay died of heart attack at the age of 53 while playing polo in June 2025.

Now, Priya's legal team has hit back at Karisma and her kids, triggering a bitter tussle over Sunjay's Rs. 30,000 crore asset.

Samaira and Kiaan in their appeal to the Delhi High Court alleged that they were removed from the will even though their late father had assured them of a share of his assets.

Though Karisma is not the plaintiff in the case, she is representing her children.

On July 30, Priya had presented a will that was allegedly made on March 21.

The case was filed by Karisma's children who sought an injunction on the disposal of Sunjay's assets.

During the hearing on the case in the Delhi HC, Priya's lawyers have slammed Karisma, who was a leading B-Town actress in the 1990s, for her absence in the last 15 years.

"Please have sympathy for a man who died while playing polo," said Rajiv Nayyar while appearing for Priya, he added, “Your husband and you left each other years ago… You were nowhere to be seen for the last 15 years," Priya's lawyers said as quoted by Hindustan Times.

The Delhi HC has issued a notice on the plea filed by Karisma and her children.

The court has directed Priya to submit a list of all assets- movable and immovable- that Sunjay had possessed.

The court has also rebuked Priya for not sharing the copy of the will with Karisma's children.

The case will be heard again on October 9 on the plea seeking interim injunction.

Karisma had tied the knot with Sunjay in 2003. The two reportedly sought a divorce in 2005.

Karisma moved out of Sunjay's house in Delhi in 2010 and their divorce was finalised in June 2016.

She had moved out of his house when their younger son Kiaan was born. The two had filed for divorce in 2014.

Sunjay, who was the chairman of Soma Comstar, later married Priya Sachdev and the couple had a son.
