Taliban militants kill 8 soldiers in Afghanistan

Kabul, Dec 9 (IBNS): Taliban members killed at least eight Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers in the Bala Baluk district of western Farah province of Afghanistan on Saturday, media reports said on Sunday.

According to reports, the militants captured 10 other soldiers.

Dadullah Qane, a member of the provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked a military base in the Aab Khurma area of the district on the Herat-Farah highway late on Saturday night.

The attackers reportedly took away all weapons and ammunition with them.

Qari Yousaf Ahamdi, Taliban’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News eight soldiers were killed and 10 others seized by the attackers. 

Two rebels were wounded in the clash, the Taliban spokesman told the Afghanistan-based news agency.
