TMC slams Union Budget, calls it 'hopeless'

| | Mar 01, 2016, at 12:54 am
Kolkata, Feb 29 (IBNS): The Trinamool Congress on Monday called the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as ' hopeless'.

"This Budget is not constructive, nor is it creative. It is stereotype and routine. We are left with no option, but to call it a hopeless budget : no hope for industry, no hope for the farmers, no hope for the poor, no hope for the middle class, no hope even for the Sensex," read the party website.

"When something is good, Trinamool Congress is always positive in its outlook and constructive in its criticism. But when something is not upto the mark and not pro industry, not pro farmer, not pro youth, not pro downtrodden and not pro people, we are compelled to be critical," the party said.

Jaitley on Monday presented the Union Budget 2016 focusing on rural development and farm and social sector while offering some relief to tax payers as analysts see it as a pro-poor budget with big ideas which is a challenge for the government to implement.
