Ukraine: Fire kills 17 in care home
Kiev, May 29 (IBNS): At least 17 people have been killed as a fire broke out at a building which housed elderly people in a village near Ukraine's capital Kiev on Sunday, media reports said.
At least 35 people were present in the two-storey building when the fire broke out.
"Emergency services units saved 18 people, five of whom have been hospitalised with burns of varying degrees of severity," Ukraine's emergencies ministry was quoted as saying by BBC.
Investigation has started into the matter.
