Vice President greets people ahead of Independence Day
New Delhi, Aug 14 (IBNS): Indian Vice President M. Hamid Ansari on Friday greeted the people of on the joyous occasion of the Independence Day.
In his message, he said, "On this auspicious occasion, we take pride in the achievements of our nation and salute the sacrifices of our valiant freedom fighters. This Independence Day let us resolve to strive towards attaining social equality and dignity for every citizen of India."
India will celebrate it 69th Independence Day this year.
While celebration preparations are on high especially in the capital city, a security blanket has been thrown in several parts of the country ahead of Independence Day to thwart any attempt by militants to disrupt the occasion.
