24th KIFF to kick start today; Mamata Banerjee welcomes dignitaries

Kolkata, Nov 10 (IBNS): The 24th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) will be inaugurated at the Netaji Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

The festival will be inaugurated by acting legend Amitabh Bachchan, veteran actresses Jaya Bachchan and Waheeda Rahman, director-producer Mahesh Bhatt, actress-turned director Nandita Das and Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi.

Bollywood superstar and West Bengal's brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan will also be present at the event.

Welcoming all the guests to the city, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, "Welcome to #Kolkata @SrBachchan Ji, @iamsrk, Jaya Di, Waheeda Rehman Ji, @MaheshNBhatt Ji, @nanditadas, Biswajit (Da) Chatterjee, Majid Majidi, Phillip Noyce,Jil Bilcock, Simon Baker & every dignitary.Looking forward to a memorable evening with you at #KIFF2018 inaugural ceremony"
