'Dawshom Awbotaar': Logo of Srijit Mukherji's multi-starrer film unveiled in presence of Prosenjit Chatterjee, others

The film, which will be jointly produced by Jio Studios and SVF Entertainment, stars Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, prominent actors Jisshu U Sengupta, Anirban Bhattacharya and Bangladeshi actress Jaya Ahsan in the lead.

The film will be a double prequel of Srijit's films 'Baishe Srabon' and 'Vinci Da'.

Speaking on the film, Srijit said, "We are thrilled to present 'Dawshom Awbotaar' as a major pujo release that will deeply resonate with viewers. Rest assured, audiences will have an indelible journey, immersing them in the very essence of our film."

Prabir Roychowdhury (Prosenjit's character in 'Baishe Srabon') will meet Bijoy Poddar (Anirban's character in 'Vinci Da') in the prequel, a cop universe.

Reuniting with Srijit, Prosenjit, who worked with the filmmaker in 'Autograph' 'Baishe Srabon' et al, said, "I am feeling extremely happy that Prabir will be present with Poddar in this prequel. I am sure Srijit has a plan to make a great film. Moreover, it has a wonderful cast."

Anirban, who played a completely different role in 'Dwitiyo Purush' (the sequel to 'Baishe Srabon'), "It's obviously a great feeling to be a part of the franchise. I am looking forward to it."

Along with the lead cast including new entrants to the franchise- Jisshu and Jaya- the music team comprising Rupam Islam, Anupam Roy and Indradip Dasgupta were also present at the logo launch event.

The film, which is set to be released during Durga Puja, goes on floors on July 21.
