Farhan does cross boundary research for Rock On 2
Mumbai, Oct 9 (IBNS): Farhan Akhtar travelled across northeast India and the UK to attend various gigs to prepare for his role in Rock On 2.
Farhan Akhtar has been busy researching for a long time as a part of prep for his upcoming film which is a sequel to Rock On (2008).
The multi talented actor travelled with his band, Farhan Akhtar Live earlier this year, and performed in various cities in India and abroad.
He also took a two-month break before he started shooting for the film, Rock On 2 recently.
A source close to Farhan says that he travelled alone to Shillong (Meghalaya) and the United Kingdom (UK) to prepare for his role (he will play a musician in the film).
“He went to Shillong and a few other places in the northeast in August. He attended concerts by local bands there. Since the film will be shot extensively in Shillong, Farhan thought it was important for him to understand the music of the region. After that, he visited the UK.” Apparently, Farhan spent over a month in the UK. “He visited John Lennon’s house, and also attended a concert by David Gilmour (musician), apart from attending around seven other gigs by local bands there. He enjoyed watching a variety of Indian and international artistes perform,” says the source, adding that the Bollywood actor returned to India last week. “He started shooting in Shillong [for the sequel] on October 5. The film’s first schedule will be over a month long,” says the source.
The film will mark the fresh onscreen pairing of Farhan Akhtar-Shraddha Kapoor, who are both avid music lovers.
Rock on 2 is written and directed by by Shujaat Saudagar and produced by Excel Entertainment and is scheduled to release in 2016.
