Shots fired at actor Tiger Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu; he is safe, police say, as manhunt begins

Mumbai: Shots were fired at actor Tiger Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area on Sunday evening, but he was unhurt, police said, and a manhunt is under way for those responsible.

Mumbai Police confirmed a firing incident was reported within the Juhu police station and that Shroff "is safe and has not sustained any gunshot injuries", according to ANI. Police said further investigation was continuing.

The incident took place near Pushpa Park, within the Juhu police station limits, the Press Trust of India reported.

Initial reports said three people on a two-wheeler opened fire at Shroff's BMW as the actor was returning home after playing football.

PTI, citing preliminary reports, said an unidentified person fired at Shroff and a friend. The number of attackers and the number of rounds fired have not been confirmed by police.

PTI quoted an unnamed police official as saying the sequence of events was still being pieced together. The official said specialised teams were checking CCTV footage from the area for leads.

A video that circulated on social media reportedly shows a person firing at the car. Its source and authenticity have not been established.

No motive has been reported, and no group or individual has claimed responsibility.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to the Mumbai Police Commissioner about the incident, sources in the Chief Minister's Office told ANI.

He asked for a swift investigation and strict action against those responsible, the sources said.
