Hum Tum turns 12, Kunal Kohli tweets memorable moments

Mumbai, May 28 (IBNS) Director Kunal Kohli, who recently celebrated 10 years of his cult film Faana, was happy to celebrate 12 years of his new age romantic flick Hum Tum.

Kohli tweeted several memorable moments from the film.

Thanking his fans for making the movie a success, Kohli said, "#12YearsofHumTum
There were many firsts associated with this film that’s earned itself cult status with all your love n support."

"#12YearsofHumTum
Considered India’s 1st romcom Rani’s 1st best actress award Saif’s 1st solo major hit 
Kunal’s 1st best director award," another tweet read.

Remembering Rishi Kapoor's entrance, he tweeted, "#12YearsofHumTum when @chintskap made his entry singing main shair toh nahin the theatre exploded with claps n whistles."

The director also spoke about the budget constraints he faced while shooting.

"#12yearsofHumTum because of budget issues we shot America & Paris portions in Amsterdam itself," he said.

He also thanked lyricist Prasoon Joshi and director/producer Aditya Chopra for their support.

"#12yearsofHumTum initially Yashji wasnt convinced of the film.Adi stood by me.Finally when Yashji saw it he loved it.I cried in relief n joy," Kohli added.

Thanking the media for their part, he said, "#12yearsofHumTum @bombaytimes had Hum Tum cartoon strips daily #IndiaToday put us on d cover.A small film got a lot of prerelease buzz."

The Hum Tum cast included several Bollywood top brass. Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan played the respective leads, while Rishi Kapoor and Kirron Kher contributed towards the project as supporting casts.

Kohli thanked Kher for her support and shared, "#12yearsofHumTum Kirron kher loved the script from the time I narrated it to her & added so much to the film. Thank you KK."

Hum Tum released in the year 2004. 

Saif Ali Khan received the National Award for his role in the following year.

The movie also won five Filmfare Awards, including Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director.
