I love wearing sarees, more in a Bengali way: Soha Ali Khan

Kolkata, Nov 8 (IBNS): Actor Soha Ali Khan loves to wear sarees but needs help to drape herself in the Bengali style.
Soha, who came to the city to blaze the ramp for the J J Valaya show at Blender's Pride on Friday, told IBNS, "I love sarees, jewelleries and I worn sarees hundreds of times."

"However I cannot arrange the pleat on my own. It's a bit complicated. I simply love the Bengali way of draping," the Rang De Basanti actor candidly said.

Wearing a lehenga "different from the ones we see normally," she said it has a regal touch with red, green and golden hues and heavy embroidery.

"It is a royal collection and suits me as I have some association with royality," Soha, the daughter of Sharmila Tagore and Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi said.

Asked if celebrating womanhood could be read as the message of her showstopper role in the show, Soha concurred, "Yes there is a message."

"And I want to say be stylish. Make statement of your style. Style is the important part of presenting yourself," she said.

Soha had a piece of advice for today's girls who are increasingly making their presence felt in the outer world.

"Girls are increasingly moving out. They are travelling in public transport. My advice to everyone - whether you wear western or Indian outfit depending on your line of work dress appropriately," she said.

Soha, who had acted in Anjan Das' Iti Srikanto and Rituparno Ghosh's Antarmahal, confirmed she was keen to work in a good script.

"I am no stranger to this city. It is a lovely place, Kolkata. I don't think I am travelling when I am here. The way you all greet me. It is my mom's home city and another home for me," she signed off.
