Jackky Bhagnani meets Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai in London

London, Sept 10 (IBNS) Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and the Pakistani girl education activist, who survived Taliban bullets, met Indian actor Jackky Bhagnani in London and expressed her desire to visit India at the earliest and extend her work in the area of education for the girl child in India as well.

Malala, the 18- year- old Nobel Peace Prize winner was accompanied by her father Ziauddin Yousafzai and her mother Toor Pekai as they met the actor over coffee.

During the meeting that lasted over two and half hours, Malala while thanking Jackky for inviting her to India as well as her supporters and well-wishers in India said, "It’s my ambition to work even harder in Pakistan and India, to ensure that girls' voices are heard and they get empowered and contribute to their society. So I am looking forward to coming to India, Inshallah."

Jackky, who invited Malala and her family to India as his guests, drew similarities between Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign and the Yousafzais' mission to educate the girl child.

The meeting between the actor and the young Nobel Laureate took place following the young actor's quirky birthday video tribute to Malala on her birthday on July 12 earlier this year via social Media where the actor is seen educating young Indian children on Malala's work.

"For me things have come a full circle. From an auto-correct mistake to a birthday video tribute to a dream meeting with one of my heroes. She is not just an inspiration but a living example of how to fight with courage and determination. Her humility is touching and her sincerity is what makes her the leader that she is. Malala is a celebration of the human spirit and this meeting was an opportunity for me to experience that," said Jackky Bhagnani.

"We were really touched after we saw the video and the unique approach in telling Malala's story to young children in India," said Malala's father Ziauddin Yousafzai.
