Maiden full length Bengali flick for digital premiere to feature Parambrata, Raima

Kolkata, May 3 (IBNS): Macneill Engineering Ltd. has taken the initiative to produce and present Mi Amor (My Love), the first full length Bengali movie to be premiered online at Bongflix.com.

"If we can make this venture successful it will be the beginning of a new era. We will be able to reduce the cost of making and presenting a film manyfold and it will inspire many more to come and produce quality Bengali movies. The industry will not see movies getting stuck and audience will get the chance of witnessing good cinema from the comfort of their homes," said Pradip Churiwal, Director, MEL.

"We have always wanted to be a part of constructive change. This movie is a step in the right direction, we believe. We thank our partners in this project and Bongflix for coming up with such a concept and trusting us to become the vehicle of change," he added.

MEL is producing this movie in collaboration with University of Miami, School of Communication's Department of Cinema and Interactive Media, Ghosal Media and Entertainment, LLC., of Florida and Nexval, Inc. of Florida.

Shot as bonglix.com original programming, Mi Amor is a love story in changing times. The two pivotal characters are Parambrata Chatterjee (Riju) and Raima Sen (Sree). The movie sees Riju pushing the envelope to invigorate his sagging relationship with Sree even as we focus on the clash between physicality and psychology slowly leading the characters to the brink of implosion.

The script has a 70:30 ratio of English:Bengali making it not only a movie for the global Bengali but also an audience that appreciates good cinema. After a limited run online the movie will also be available for global distribution.

Shepherded by director Suman Ghosh, the movie will see Bickram Ghosh coming in as music director. University of Miami based professor and multiple-award winning Ed Talavera will be the DOP for the movie. This movie will be shot in USA at a stretch for 20 odd days and will bear a truly international look with a universal content.

While Parambrata, a thinker, director and pathbreaker in his own right, is upbeat about the project and its international and national spectrum, Raima Sen, who has made a mark for herself for doing movies of substance, feels efforts like this will make Bengali cinema global.
