People will stop buying audio CDs in next 5 years: Sidhu

| | Oct 08, 2015, at 08:28 pm
Kolkata, Oct 8 (IBNS) Leading contemporary musician and Cactus band frontman Sidhu said none will buy audio CDs in next five years.
"We have done away with the concept of releasing CD albums during pujas. We have explored the other version of uploading the same on net," Sidhu told IBNS on the sidelines of screening of the short film the Waiting Room at Gallery Gold here.

Predicting in the next five years there will be none to buy and hear audio cds, Sidhu says from films to music net has emerged as the new medium.

"The tendency to watch net-based film is on the rise since we can tailor the timings according to our convenience. For me, I love to watch films from 11:30 pm to 1 am at night," Sidhu said.

However, unlike music, films will continue to thrive on two different mediums - feature film in theatres and short films on net enabling new  directors like Samiran to reach out to a greater number of audience," Sidhu said.
