Short film Lal Phite’ (Red Ribbon) premieres at 23rd KIFF after success in USA

Kolkata, Nov 11 (IBNS)  After its overseas success in Houston and Los Angeles, self-taught film maker Sabyasachi Dey’s Bengali short film Lal Phite (Red Ribbon) - which bagged the prestigious Gold Remi Winner for the most original dramatic short at the 50th World-Fest Houston International Film Festival this year - will mark its Indian premiere
Saturday at the 23rd International Kolkata Film Festival  at Nandan III.

The film Lal Phite (Red Ribbon) was also awarded the Best Director and Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography in Los Angeles Independent Film Festival 2017. Lal Phite has been officially selected for the 7th Madrid International Film Festival, Spain and also for one of the oldest 68th Montecatini International Short Film Festival, Italy, 7th
Social world film festival, Italy and many other International film festivals in Latin America, North America and Europe.

Some of the biggest names from the film world like Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee, Oliver Stone, David Lynch, Ridley Scott, Coen Brothers and others have been Gold Remi Winners in their early life.

“RED RIBBON  with its entire connotation tries to explore the magic of love and its transcendental power of breaking the barrier of all kinds…… I am glad that after receiving stupendous encouragement overseas, my film is being screened at the KIFF 2017,” said director Sabyasachi Dey.
