Kolkata/IBNS: Filmmaker Srijit Mukherji's upcoming Bengali film 'Oti Uttam' is set to bring alive acting legend Uttam Kumar onscreen through VFX.

The film stars Gourab Chatterjee, Anindya Sengupta, Roshni Bhattacharya among others.

The prevue of the film was released earlier this week on the occasion of Uttar Kumar's 43rd death anniversary.

The plot revolves around Anindya, a PhD scholar who is pursuing his research on Uttam Kumar, who gets rejected by a girl whom he likes.

Reportedly, Anindya brings Uttam Kumar's spirit with the help of the legend's both off-screen and in the film grandson, Gourab Chatterjee to solve his personal crisis.

Speaking at the trailer, Srijit says, "It took five years to make the film and materialise my dream. This is my tribute to the legend. A lot of people, who still miss him, will be able to experience him acting with the help of technology."

Anindya said, "This is surreal for the entire Bengali community. I initially couldn't believe that I was being offered this role by Srijit-da."

The film is produced by Camelia Productions.
