Subhashree Ganguly, Ishaa Saha, Madhumita lead celebs in gracing Shri Swapankumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole premiere

Kolkata/IBNS: Bengali film actresses Subhashree Ganguly, Ishaa Saha, Madhumita Sarcar, filmmaker Arindam Sil were among the Tollywood celebrities, who graced the premiere of Debaloy Bhattacharya's Bengali film Shri Swapankumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole, which will release on big screens on Friday.

The film, which brings the world of Shri Swapankumar and his character Dipak Chatterjee back through a cinematic tale, features veteran Paran Bandyopadhyay, Abir Chatterjee and Shruti Das in the lead.

In her rare appearance since turning mother for the second time, Subhashree, who worked with Debaloy in Hoichoi web series Indubala Bhaater Hotel, styled a skirt with a blazer as she walked into a city mall for the premiere.

"A complete different kind of a film. It has the trademark style of Debaloy Bhattacharya’s filmmaking. Abir-da is brilliant," Subhashree told IBNS at the interval.

The film is an enthralling thriller adaptation based on the adventures of detective Dipak Chatterjee and his long-time confidant, Ratanlal (Pratik Dutta).

Before entering the screening, theatre artistes and actors Kaushik Sen and Reshmi Sen shares, "Our childhood is associated with the world of Swapankumar. We are looking forward to how it has been brought to film now."

Speaking to IBNS, actress Madhumita said, "It is needed to explore the world of Swapankumar. We often keep on exploring different avenues of a particular genre. Now this is the new genre to explore. It’s definitely very refreshing."

Going by the storyline, in a city threatened by the notorious international terrorist Badami Hyena, a long-forgotten detective, Deepak Chatterjee, is brought out of retirement by his creator, prolific pulp writer Swapankumar.

They unite with Deepak's trusted confidante, Ratanlal to capture Badami Hyena and secure a secret container holding his lifeline.

The lead cast including Abir had joined the guests at the screening of the film. "Our joy is that the audience will be excited to watch the world of Swapankumar on big screens," says Abir, who has featured as a detective in a number of franchises.

Shruti, who worked with Srijit Mukherji's in X=Prem in 2022, called her latest project "entertaining" and she is hopeful that the audience will love it.

The actress, who was wearing a gorgeous black gown with a plunging neckline, said, "I have tried to do a different kind of work in the sense the treatment is very different. We haven’t addressed this genre in this way earlier."

Among others who were present at the premiere were Sandipta Sen, Saurav Das, Alivia Sarkar.
