Tamil superstar Rajinikanth turns 67 on Tuesday, keeps celebrations low key

Chennai, Dec 12 (IBNS): Superstar actor Rajinikanth, who turns 67 on Tuesday, has decided on a low-key birthday celebration in view of the devastation wrought by Cyclone Ockhi in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshsdweep, media reported.

The star has been receiving birthday wishes from many, including his fans. Some of them were even seen putting up posters urging him to join politics, media reported.

MK Stalin, DMK's Working President & Treasurer, wished him on Twitter, saying, "#HBDSuperStarRajinikanth I, very sincerely, wish you a long, contented, happy and healthy life. @superstarrajini."

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "T 2739 - To my dear friend, colleague and a most humble and large hearted Colossus !! Birthday greetings .. वर्ष नव, हर्ष नव , जीवन उत्कर्ष नव !!"

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Have always been in awe of your onscreen persona but working with you made me a bigger fan of you offscreen. They don't call you Superstar just like that :) Keep shining the brightest ✨@superstarrajini Sir #HappyBirthdaySuperStarRajinikanth."

Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, better known by his stage name Rajinikanth, works primarily in Tamil cinema.
