Teenage girl from 'Talvar' kept under wraps?

Mumbai, Oct 1 (IBNS) Talvar, Meghna Gulzar's investigative thriller which is based on the shocking case of the May 2008 murder of a 14-year-old Delhi girl, Aarushi Talwar, has kept Shruti under wraps.

The teenage girl from the film 'Talvar', Shruti Tandon, who's character is inspired by Aarushi Talwar has been deliberately kept away from the film's promotions.

The producers felt it is insensitive to put a teenage actor through awkward questions during the movie's promotions. Being impressionable, the makers neither wanted to exploit the 14-year-old protagonist by putting her through the motions of media interviews, nor were they keen to put too many images of her on posters.

Considering the sensitive nature of the film, which has seasoned actors like Irrfan, Konkona Sensharma and Neeraj Kabi in lead roles, the onus of promoting the movie has been put on the shoulders of the seniors and the teenager has been thoughtfully and deliberately kept away from the public glare.

Talvar , produced by Junglee Pictures and Vishal Bhardwaj, releases Oct 2.
