Want an India independent of rape, says Amitabh Bachchan

Mumbai, Aug 10 (IBNS): Actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is promoting his upcoming release Pink, said his Independence Day wish is to 'have an India independent of rape'.

"At PC of #PinkTrailer, media asks I wish for India on Independence Day, said 'an India independent of rape'," he tweeted.

Also asking for women to take charge of society, the veteran actor said, "A womans (sic) body is not a democracy. It's a dictatorship. About time dictators took charge."

The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Taring, Angad Bedi and Piyush Mishra.

Directed by Bengali filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the movie is co-produced by Shoojit Sircar, Ronnie Lahiri and Rashmi Sharma.
