Working with Sanjay, Samir was fulfilling experience: Nora Fatehi
Bigg Boss famed Nora Fatehi, who is returning to Hindi films after four years, will be seen pairing with actor Sanjay Suri in Samir Soni directorial film 'My Birthday Song'. IBNS/TWF correspondent Souvik Ghosh interacts with the Indo-Canadian model-dancer-actress exclusively during the film's promotion in Kolkata
You are returning to Hindi cinema after four years. What made you wait for so long?
I was waiting for the right script and did a quite of commercial stuff. I also took part in films like Baahubali, Rocky Handsome. I enjoyed being a part of some music videos and also explored the space of television. I really liked the script of 'My Birthday Song', so went on to work along with this film. I am not really keen to do just any film, for me it is important to do hit works-be it commercially hit songs or shows-as long as it is hit or working well. For me, working in hit projects is most important.
What was your first thought after getting the offer to be part of 'My Birthday Song'.
At first I did research on Sanjay Suri (actor-producer) and Samir Soni (director), I found that both are respected actors. After that, I didn't think twice.
How was your working experience with Sanjay and Samir?
It was a very fulfilling experience. It went very natural. They (Sanjay and Samir) are friends and it was a very small family. So I was like a stranger to the family but both of them accepted me very well and gave a lot of confidence.
In what kind of a role the viewers will see you in 'My Birthday Song'?
My character's name is Sandy. She is the female lead in the film who comes to Rajiv Kaul's (played by actor Sanjay Suri) 40th birthday party and sparks a series of events. So Sandy is a very independent, confident, mysterious lady but there is a sense of vulnerability with her character.
You have worked in few regional films (Telugu, Malayalam films) in last four years. Are you looking to be a part of Bengali film industry?
I don't know but I will have to speak Bengali (smiles). May be, if I know (learn), I would love to.
You have been a dancer, tried modeling, acted in films and also a face on television. Which work you would like to continue after this?
I definitely enjoy acting. So that would be my long term plan I think for sure.
