Akshay Kumar's Gold hits silverscreen

Mumbai, Aug 15 (IBNS): With promises of creating another magic at the Indian Box Office, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's Gold released on Wednesday.

The movie released on a day when the country is celebrating Independence Day.

Gold is a hockey-based movie featuring Akshay and Mouni Roy in the lead roles.

Mouni is a popular face in Indian television.

The movie is directed by Reema Kagti.

Asking his fans to watch the movie, Kumar tweeted: "A story which will make your chest swell with pride...this journey has been nothing less than #Gold! Now over to you guys, go and experience it at a theatre near you tomorrow! #1DayToGold @excelmovies @kagtireema @FarOutAkhtar @ritesh_sid @Roymouni."

Gold is one of the major releases of the year.
