Netflix scores big FIFA deal: All 104 World Cup 2030 matches to stream live in Spain, Andorra

Netflix has secured exclusive broadcasting rights in Spain and Andorra for the FIFA World Cup 2030, bringing all 104 matches of the tournament live to subscribers in the two countries.

The 2030 edition will mark the centenary of the FIFA World Cup, with Spain, Morocco and Portugal serving as the three host nations. Centenary celebration matches will also be held in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Netflix plans to offer comprehensive live coverage, including pre-match, halftime and post-match shows featuring a distinctly Spanish perspective.

The streaming platform will also provide a daily highlights programme on matchdays and content to build excitement ahead of the tournament.

Select matches to be available free-to-air

Under the agreement, one match per matchday will be available free of charge in Spain.

A package of matches, including every Spain match, both semi-finals and the final, will also be broadcast by a national free-to-air broadcaster to ensure wider accessibility for viewers.

Netflix said further details about its partnership with a free-to-air broadcaster for the selected matches would be announced closer to the tournament.

Netflix expands partnership with FIFA

The agreement further strengthens Netflix's growing relationship with FIFA. The streaming platform also holds the rights to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 and 2031 in the United States and Canada.

Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, said the World Cup was among the few sporting events capable of uniting people across nations and generations.

Recalling Spain's triumph at the tournament, Bajaria said the passion, pride and stories surrounding football become part of a nation's culture.

“With Spain set to host in 2030, we're thrilled to bring every match to fans across Spain and Andorra on Netflix,” she said.

She added that the expanding partnership with FIFA reflected Netflix's commitment to bringing fans closer to the world's biggest sporting events.

FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said the organisation was pleased to build on its partnership with Netflix ahead of the 2030 tournament.

He described the centenary edition as a special occasion and said both organisations aimed to bring fans closer to the game and enable as many people as possible to share in the excitement.

Growing live sports portfolio

The deal adds to Netflix's expanding portfolio of premium live sports programming, which includes the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 and 2031, NFL games and events, Major League Baseball, WWE and major boxing and mixed martial arts events.

In Spain, Netflix has built a presence in sports entertainment through documentaries and series featuring prominent athletes and competitions, including LALIGA: All Access, RAFA, Carlos Alcaraz: My Way and The Figo Affair: The Transfer That Changed Football.

Its football-related programming also includes Captains of the World, produced in partnership with FIFA, alongside Beckham, Neymar: The Perfect Chaos, Vini Jr., MOURINHO, Under Pressure: The U.S. Women's World Cup Team and Sunderland 'Til I Die.

The FIFA World Cup 2030 will commemorate 100 years since the inaugural tournament was held in Uruguay in 1930, bringing together the world's leading national teams for a historic edition of the competition.
