Andrew McDonald becomes Australia's interim head coach

Former Australian cricketer Andrew McDonald has been appointed as the interim national men's team coach after the post was vacated by Justin Langer.

McDonald will coach Australia in the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Cricket Australia has put up a tweet that reads, "Andrew McDonald will step up into the role of interim head coach of our men's national team, with official duties beginning with Australia's upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka."

McDonald, who played for Victoria and South Australia, made his Test debut as the national team player in 2009.

He has played 95 First Class matches and scored 4,825 runs besides picking 201 wickets.
