Luanda/Xinhua: Angolan sports authorities have cancelled the 2019/2020 national senior male basketball championship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The outcome is a result of a meeting held in the country's capital Luanda between the Angolan basketball federation management commission and representatives of the eight competing clubs.

The competition was suspended in March this year when the pandemic broke out in the country.

The title holder Petro de Luanda with 49 points was ahead of the championship followed by 1º de Agosto and Interclube both with 44 points.
