Asian Games: Manjit Singh bags gold in 800 metres event

Jakarta, Aug 28 (IBNS): Indian athlete Manjit Singh bagged the gold medal in the men's 800 metres event here on Tuesday.

Singh completed the race in 1:46.15 minutes.

Jinson Johnson clinched the silver medal by finishing the race in 1:46.35 minutes.

Qatar's Abdalla Abubaker stood third by clocking 1:46.38 minutes.

Indian Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore tweeted: "WHAT A RUN! WHAT A BRILLIANT RUN! Manjit Singh had to come from the 4th position to win GOLD Medal in last 50 meters. With a timing of 1:46:15 in 800m men's event, he was simply sensational! Very proud! #KheloIndia #AsianGame2018 #IndiaAtAsianGames."
