Atletico de Kolkata management show causes Mohammed Rafique for not attending training session

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IBNS): Atletico de Kolkata team management has show caused team member Mohammed Rafique for not attending the training session on Sunday at Salt Lake Stadium here and for not informing the team management in advance.

"Mohammed Rafique who is a drafted player from Indian Super League needs to give a pertinent reason for his absence within the next 24 hours," said an official statement.

"The copy of the show cause notice will be sent to Indian Super League management as well by the Atlético de Kolkata team management," it said.

Utsav Parekh, Atlético de Kolkata co-owner and head of Atlético de Kolkata Managing Committee, said, “We are shocked by this kind of behaviour by our team member. We came to know about his absence from team manager. Rafique did not even bother to inform in advance and had only messaged team manager that he would be in Bangalore today due to some other professional commitment. This is completely unacceptable; we do not endorse such indifference and dispassion from any of our players. We will be sending a copy of the notice to Indian Super League Management as well.”
