Atletico de Kolkata selects six Indian footballers for its squad through the auction and domestic draft of Indian Super League

Out of 10 outstanding Indian footballers who were up on auction, Atlético de Kolkata picked up highly promising Arata Izumi and Rino Anto and also decided on selecting young goalie Amrinder Singh, right back Augustin Fernandes, versatile defender Lalchhawnkima, proficient goalkeeper Kunzang Bhutia from the domestic player draft. 

Among the 10 players in today’s auction, eight players have been India Internationals. These 10 players were not a part of the first edition of the league and thus will bring in more excitement and intrigue quotient.

“I am satisfied with our picks both during the auction and the players’ draft. We had already a few names in mind and I am satisfied that we have been successful in bringing most of them into our fold. This year, with the kind of footballers we have signed, I am sure Atlético de Kolkata fans will find more reasons to cheer for their new stars and support us in our quest to defend the title," said Antonio Lopez Habas, Head Coach, Atlético de Kolkata.
