Sydney, Jan 23 (IBNS) Batting first in the fifth and final ODI of the series, Australia set India a steep target of 331 runs, here on Saturday.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men kept picking up wickets up front to keep the Aussies under check, but a defiant innings from David Warner and Mitchell Marsh bailed out the home team.

Stitching a 118-run partnership for the fifth wicket, Warner and Marsh kept milking the Indian bowling in the middle overs to steady the Aussie innings.

Missing his century in the last ODI, David Warner finally made it count as he completed a fine century. Warner's innings of 122 of 113 balls had 9 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Marsh too scored a century, remaining unbeaten at 102 off 84 deliveries. Marsh hit 9 boundaries and a couple of sixes.

Among the Indian bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah making his debut was the pick of the bowlers. As the others were carted for runs, Bumrah picked up two crucial wickets while giving away 40 runs in his 10 overs.

He also bowled a tight penultimate over, giving away just 3 runs while removing James Faulkner.

Apart from him, Ishant Sharma too chipped in with 2 wickets, giving away 60 runs in his 10 overs.

Though Rishi Dhawan and Umesh Yadav claimed a wicket each, both were expensive, dishing out 74 and 82 runs respectively.
