BCCI,PCB delegations meet in Dubai
"The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and its outcome will be shared with the members of their respective boards," read a statement issued by the BCCI.
Disapproving the proposed bilateral cricket match between India and Pakistan, Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel on Monday said the Government will not allow any such event to take place till "cross-border terrorism" continues. reports said.
His statement comes on a day the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board are scheduled to meet in Dubai to discuss their bilateral ties, which has been in a limbo for years because of diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
"BCCI should speak to the Government before giving any proposal to Pakistan. I have made it clear that bilateral cricket with Pakistan is not possible till the time there is cross-border terror. We have, however, no say on multilateral events (ICC tournaments)," Goel told reporters.
BCCI and PCB had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to play six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023. Earlier this month, the PCB had sent a notice of dispute to the Indian board, claiming losses for the BCCI’s refusal to tour in 2015.
