Manchester, Aug 7 (IBNS): In a Test where Indian fans were expecting their side to turn around and lift their performance, MS Dhoni's men were bowled out at 152 runs while England finished the first day of the fourth match of the series at 113 for three, trailing the visitors by 39 runs, here on Thursday.

Indian batsmen became a part of scripting another history which they would love to forget as six of them returned to the pavilion without scoring a single run.

Murali Vijay, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Pankaj Singh  were out without disturbing the scorers.

Experienced Gautam Gambhir, who returned to the playing side after a long wait, scored only four runs and failed to impress his fans in his comeback innings.

It was skipper MS Dhoni who tried to give some challenge to the English bowlers with his 133-ball 71.He smashed 15 boundaries.

R Ashwin (40) and

Ajinkya Rahane (24) were the other two batsmen to reach the double figure mark. India were 8-4 at one stage of the innings

Stuart Broad (6-25) was brutal with his bowling as he destroyed the Indian line up. James Anderson (3-46) and

Chris Jordan (1-27) gave broad good assistance as their side is aiming to go up in the series which is currently leveled at 1-1.

In reply, England lost the wickets of Alaister Cook (17),

Sam Robson( 6) and Gary Ballance (37) to stand at 113 for three at stumps.

Ian Bell (45*) and Jordan (0*) will resume the proceedings on Friday.

Varun Aaron (2-26) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1-17) gave early blows to England.

With six batsmen out for duck, India now jointly hold the record for highest number of ducks in an innings along with other Test playing sides like South Africa and Bangladesh.

India and England are leveled 1-1 in the series.
